Product Detail

Step into the world of professional audio with the Apogee Opto - 3A. This compressor was used to process Bryan Ferry's vocals and David Bowie's guitar sounds. Modeled after the Urei Teletronix LA - 3A, it brings classic analog compression right into your digital setup. Key features include optical compression/limiting, replication of the modeled hardware's reactive compression, extended HF emphasis, sidechain HP filter, dry/FX mix. It runs natively on your Mac in your favorite DAW without needing Apogee hardware, and also on Apogee hardware DSP in Element Series and Ensemble Thunderbolt audio.

Using the Apogee Opto - 3A is easy. First, if you're using it on your Mac, just open your favorite DAW and start using it natively. No need for additional Apogee hardware. If you're using it with Apogee hardware like in the Element Series or Ensemble Thunderbolt audio, it'll run on the DSP. To get the best sound, play around with the different features. The optical compressor/limiter can help control the dynamics of your audio. Use the extended HF emphasis to add some brightness. The sidechain HP filter can be handy to cut out unwanted low - frequency noise. And don't forget to adjust the dry/FX mix to find the right balance. As for maintenance, keep it in a clean and dry place. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. Regularly check the connections to make sure they're secure. And that's it! You're ready to start creating great - sounding audio.
