Product Detail
Magnetite pays tribute to the iconic sound of magnetic tape recorders. Simply use the recording gain knob to set the saturation and warmth you want, and Magnetite will add the classic analog tape sonics to your mixes. Whether it's huge drums, distorted loops, or saturated vocals, Magnetite can bring new life to your tracks. We suggest using it as the first insert in your chain, just like recording signals to tape. You can also place it elsewhere for creative effects. We've carefully emulated all aspects of analog tape sound, including Class A recording and playback amplifiers, tape response and saturation, NAB EQs, effects of different tape speeds and bias levels, hiss, and hum. There's also an adjustable wow and flutter feature. The SSE2 optimized code ensures high - performance operation. Auto - adjusted oversampling reduces aliasing and saves CPU power while providing transparent sound. All Black Rooster plugins support high DPI on Mac OSX and Windows. System requirements include Mac OSX 10.9 - 10.15 Catalina, Windows 7 or newer, an SSE2 compatible processor, 1GB of RAM or more, a VST, AU or AAX compatible host, and a display resolution of 1280x1024 pixels or more.
Using Magnetite is easy. First, open your audio project in a compatible host like VST, AU, or AAX. Locate Magnetite in your plugin list and insert it into your chain. If you want a classic tape - recording effect, put it as the first insert. Use the recording gain knob to adjust the amount of saturation and warmth according to your preference. You can play around with different settings to see what suits your tracks best. Remember, for creative effects, you can place it in different spots in your chain. As for the wow and flutter feature, adjust it to add that authentic touch of frequency modulation. When it comes to system requirements, make sure your computer meets them. You need Mac OSX 10.9 - 10.15 Catalina or Windows 7 or newer, an SSE2 compatible processor (Intel Core CPU is recommended), at least 1GB of RAM, and a display with a resolution of 1280x1024 pixels or more. Also, if you're on Windows, check your manual to see if your DAW supports high DPI. There's no special maintenance needed for Magnetite. Just keep your computer's operating system and audio software up - to - date to ensure it runs smoothly.
