Product Detail

Experience the real sound of two world - class analog tape machines with Slate Digital's VTM. Digital recording is the norm in professional music production, but the unique sound of analog tape still draws many engineers and musicians. Analog tape machines have a distinct, big, warm, and rich sound that's truly musical. VTM models two of the most famous tape machines in audio. It offers options like bias, tape speed, and tape type. Pro engineers love VTM for its extreme authenticity, thanks to years of in - depth study by Slate Digital's Fabrice Gabriel. Using VTM on your tracks and mixes will make them warmer, smoother, punchier, and more analog. You can choose between a 16 - track 2 - inch tape machine and a 1/2 inch stereo mastering deck, along with two popular tape formulations for different sonic results. Also, VTM accurately emulates common tape speeds of 15 and 30IPS, and you can adjust the bass response using the bass alignment slider.

Using VTM is easy. First, open it up in your digital audio workstation. Select your preferred tape machine - you can pick between the 16 - track 2 - inch tape machine and the 1/2 inch stereo mastering deck. Then choose the tape formulation according to the sonic result you want. Next, set the tape speed to either 15 or 30IPS, and you can further tweak the bass response using the bass alignment slider in the Settings module. As for maintenance, since it's a virtual product, there's no physical maintenance needed. But make sure your computer meets the system requirements for smooth operation. Also, keep your software updated to enjoy the latest features and bug fixes. When using VTM, don't go overboard with the settings at first. Start with the default settings and make small adjustments to see how they affect your sound.
